It would be nice to play all matches in weather that is 68 °F (20 °C), with 50 percent humidity, but that rarely happens. Serious players have to prepare for competition in an extreme climate as if it were an added opponent. They acclimate themselves to the temperature as much as possible by wearing the proper clothing, consuming the right foods and fluids, and pacing themselves to endure difficult situations. The ones who are successful turn the obstacles of extremely hot and cold weather into assets.
